Sports - Cricket,
sailing, diving
Walking - this is a regular family pursuit. We are privileged
to have such beautiful and varying landscapes throughout Britain. It
also provides an opportunity to view the wildlife, which the children
particularly enjoy. We have explored Cannock Chase, the Yorkshire
Dales, North York Moors, Lake District, Exmoor, Dartmoor, Bodmin Moor,
Dorset Heritage Coast, Brecon Beacons and Snowdonia National Park. We
are planning a visit to the Pembrokeshire Coast National Park.
Travel - we have travelled extensively from Iceland to Southern
Africa. North America, India, Botswana, Zimbabwe, South Africa, UAE
and various European countries have featured in our travels.
Bird watching - the above pursuits allow us to indulge in this
favourite pastime. Highlights include seeing five different types of
kingfisher in Southern Africa, swallow-tailed kite in Florida, red
kite in Wales, alpine chough in Switzerland, Elanora’s falcons in
Mallorca, greater spotted woodpecker in the garden, black kite nesting
outside my uncle’s house in India and waxwings gathered on a tree
outside Sandwell DGH! We visit Slimbridge regularly as well as local
spots in Wales.
